Applications for CheckReader

Cheque processing

A2ia CheckReader automatically recognises courtesy and legal amounts (CAR+LAR) on all bank payment forms: cheques, deposit slips, etc. The software can be used at both centralised and decentralised locations (banking branches or directly at large remitters).

Remittance processing

A2ia CheckReader recognises courtesy and legal amounts on cheques provided with payment coupons. The software bases itself on the information supplied on the coupon to validate the check amount (CAR+LAR).

Consistency control and fraud detection

A2ia CheckReader scans checks to make sure that the required fields - courtesy and legal amounts, date, payee name and signature have been filled out. The software also verifies that the courtesy and legal amounts are consistent.

Money laundering Detection

With A2ia CheckReader, fraud detection can be automated, thereby meeting the latest conditions for fighting money laundering and terrorism financing. The software recognises the name of the cheque's drawer and payee, and can spot fraudulent and money-laundering operations by validating checks against various blacklists.

ATM (Automated Teller Machine Cheque Deposits)

A2ia CheckReader recognises checks deposited at ATMs and completes the mandatory consistency controls. The software allows the address block printed on the cheque to be checked against the data supplied by the bankcard in order to verify the remitter's identity.

Cheque Mining (Customer Relation Management)

A2ia CheckReader scans all of the information in the address block. This data can be used to manage customer knowledge: geo-marketing, database building, etc.
